For the last two months, I've been working crazy hours and very little time off. Most of it away from home. We finally delivered the project on March 14th. On March 15th, we hitched up the camper and drove to Fort Wilderness!!!!
We were incredibly lazy on this trip, but do a few things!!
We arrived on a Tuesday evening really late and was given site 349. (FYI, we booked premium, but this was a partial pet). We discussed the situation with the cast member upon arrival, but there was nothing else available, so we requested the option to be moved in the morning, and decided to wait and see what the site was like.
We pushed the camper into place, plugged in the electric and went to bed.
Wednesday morning, we surveyed our surroundings and decided to stay put.
We then completed our setup:
Disney's Fort Wilderness, Site 349, Preferred Pet Loop, Water, Electric, Sewer, Cable, very close to the Settlement area and Marina, and very close to the dog park.
We went to Epcot that evening. The Flower and Garden Festival was going on:
We went to dinner at the Mexico Restaurant Hacienda de San Angel, we weren't impressed. The pork was too spicy, and the steak was dry
On Thursday, was more laziness, we stayed around the campground most of the day, had breakfast at Trails End (about 11am), tooled around on the golf cart, then left for Wide World of Sports and a Braves Game:
On Friday, rinse and repeat, except after being lazy at the campground, this time, we went to Downtown Disney for a bit and rode Characters in Flight
After Downtown Disney, we went back to Epcot and wandered the Flowers some more:
Watched an episode of King Arthur and the Holy Grail, Rubbish!!!
We then watched one of Epcot's "Flower Power" concerts. Chubby Checker was on!!
We then saw the American Adventure attraction:
and had dinner at Tutto Italia. This meal was EXCELLENT!!
On Saturday was also really lazy. I didn't do a whole lot of picture taking, but we hung around, went to Wal-Mart, then some friends of ours came to visit. We all went to dinner together at 50's Prime Time at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Our server playing her part as we were all "bad"
A group picture on the main drag of the Studios:
We were supposed to head home this morning, but I was just NOT ready, so I went to the front desk and was able to extend for two more days!!!!!
So the laziness continued. Once again breakfast at Trails End, then back to napping and relaxing.
We got dinner reservations at Cape May Buffet at the Beach Club, so bussed over to Studios, and took the walkway to Beach Club, and filled up on Clams, Mussels, Crab Legs, and other goodies, then bus to Magic Kingdom, and boat to the Fort. That's when we discovered that one of the large cruisers in in rehab, cause we had to wait for it to return cause of the ECV. The little boats can't take them.
Monday was another lazy day. However, I did have another mission. I read on Facebook that Deb Wills (webmaster of AllEars.net) was having a meet and greet over at the Contemporary at 10:15, so I boated over there and met with her and saw some other old friends and gave out a few Fiends cards :-)
Then I was back on the picture mission, then relaxing time back at the camper. (Rick had breakfast at Trails End, did laundry, and took a nap.)
We wandered around the horse stables:
and took a boat to Magic Kingdom
Rode the Haunted Mansion, but just missed the new interactive queue area:
Then we had dinner at Crystal Palace.
Rick headed back at that point and I hung around and rode a few attractions and also got some shots of the inside of the Tangarora Terrace (used to be a restaurant in Adventureland) and is now a princess character greeting area:
I stayed for the fireworks, then headed over to Studios for late night hours and managed 4 rides on Toy Story Mania
Then back to the camper and bed.
The next morning, we did pack up and headed home. Had an uneventful drive, except that we did win $300 on a scratchoff card in Georgia (Paid for some of our gas anyway).
(1400 miles)
Comin next the Blue Ridge T@B Rally, and the Mammoth Cave Caravan!! A week & 1/2 of T@B fellowship and Fun!!
Thanks for lookin!!
